THREADS

“Threads” shows us a woman pulling on strings of various colors and creating bands decorated with various traditional designs. Like her predecessors, this woman is creating her own clothing and dressing herself in her own creation. Ribbons are a part of her hair, her skirt, and her environment is made of the same designs. She is using a traditional tool for making bands, found in the parts of Scandinavia and Mongolia. This painting also speaks about harmony, where assorted strings with different colors are pulled and put together in a harmonious pattern and rhythm.
